London, 28 April 2022 – Arma Partners (“Arma”), the independent financial advisory firm focused on companies and investors active in the global Digital Economy, is pleased to announce another year of record activity levels. After advising on 35 transactions in the 12 months to 31 March 2022, Arma has achieved strong year-on-year revenue growth, outperforming the previous record fiscal year. The firm is poised to maintain its robust deal momentum through 2022 and beyond, with an active pipeline of M&A and private capital transactions and the continued growth and development of its team.
Arma has announced the promotions of Andrew Wheatley and Bruno Nehmé to the positions of Partner, as well as Daniel Fugmann, Eike Marx and Shajeed Surani to the positions of Managing Director. The firm has also hired Ilgit Beygo from Roland Berger as Managing Director. Arma takes pride in recognising and progressing talent, with the majority of its 12 Partners grown and promoted internally, rather than hired laterally. In order to accommodate the continued growth of the firm, Arma has secured more prime office space in which to expand, increasing its office footprint by c.50% through leasing the remaining space on the 27th floor of the Shard, previously occupied by Campari.
In addition, Arma is investing in deepening its industry-leading domain expertise in the Digital Economy through the creation of a dedicated “Digital Insights” team. Led by Managing Directors Ilgit Beygo, Pratik Patel and Rohit Shiralkar, the team will maintain and extend Arma’s thought leadership in core and new sub-sectors of the Digital Economy, provide strategic counsel to clients through proprietary sector insights and support new business origination and M&A execution. The Digital Insights team will also publish fact-based insights and analysis and contribute to the firm’s “Arma Angle” content hub.
Paul-Noël Guély, Founder and Managing Partner of Arma Partners, said: “The past 12 months have once again posed severe challenges to businesses and society, from the continued global health crisis through to geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainty triggered by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Against that backdrop, we are humbled by the continued trust placed in us by our clients, grateful for the exemplary work and outstanding contribution of our junior team and proud of Arma’s success in achieving another record year. We also recognise our responsibility to give back to local and global communities. The firm donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee and matched the personal donations made by our team to fund humanitarian aid for Ukraine, as well as continuing to support several important local charities.”
“Despite the challenging backdrop, we firmly believe in the long-term growth fundamentals of the Digital Economy. Our continued investment in our exceptional team positions us to maintain our momentum and consolidate our leadership position in terms of domain expertise, deal activity levels and exceptional outcomes for our clients.”
During the past year, Arma advised on 25 M&A deals, including EQT and TA Associates’ partial sale of IFS and WorkWave to Hg at a $10bn valuation, Forterro’s $1.1bn acquisition by Partners Group, Allocate’s $1.4bn sale to RLDatix, Nutmeg’s $839m sale to JPMorgan Chase, Astorg and Bridgepoint’s $1.2bn acquisition of Fenergo and Talentsoft’s $550m sale to Cegid; as well as 10 growth capital financings for category leaders across the Digital Economy, such as Rohlik Group, Sendcloud, Xempus and HungryPanda. Arma has carried this strong momentum into the new financial year, including by advising Virtual1 on its sale to TalkTalk Group and Clearlake Capital and TA Associates on their acquisition of Kofax from Thoma Bravo.
