Venture Capital Exits
Soon after Arma was founded, we surprised the technology ecosystem by announcing “home run” outcomes for top-tier venture capital funds in the immediate aftermath of the dotcom bubble bursting. At a time when most funds were writing off their tech investments, we advised on the $210 million sale of SuSe Linux to Novell, a deal worth 7x revenue just weeks before the company was due to wind up. Fifteen years later, the very same business was carved out of LSE-listed Micro Focus by EQT (both repeat clients of Arma) for over $2.5 billion, creating the largest independent open-source leader in a landmark transaction on which Arma also advised. We continue to work with industry-leading venture capital funds on successfully navigating high-value exits across the Digital Economy. Our unique ability to articulate a compelling equity story, capture a share of the synergies unlocked, crystallise scarcity value and drive a competitive auction underpins our exceptional track record with VC-backed category leaders.
